The paperwork is being prepared for the judging of this year’s competition. You will receive an email later this week listing the sequence of the gardens on your day and where you are placed within that order. The steward will also contact you a property or two ahead of time to let you know where they are and an expected time for the judging (this is often difficult to predict as gardens come in all sizes).
Sunday 13 Sept – Northern Beaches from Diggers Beach to Red Rock
Monday 14 Sep – Toormina, Sawtell, Boambee and Bonville
Tuesday 15 Sep – Coffs City area and the Orara Valley
During judging there will be an out of area Judge, Club Steward and Club Photographer visiting your garden. There is no requirement for you to be present on the day, but the judge will need access to your garden. The Judge’s assessment will be made as the garden is on the day of judging. If you are absent the steward will leave a note indicating the time of the visit.
As there is NOT to be a Presentation Night this year due to COVID, the presentation of awards has been changed up a little.
This award will be presented by Mayor Denise Knight and Coffs Garden Club representatives on Thursday 17 September, 10:30am in the winning garden (the recipient will be contacted to make sure that this is convenient for them to attend).
These awards will also be presented on Thursday 17 September by Executive members of Coffs Harbour Garden Club (gardeners will be contacted to arrange a suitable time during the day).
Gardens who have been awarded first place in each category will receive their awards on Friday 18 September by Executive members of Coffs Harbour Garden Club. First placed gardens are expected to be open to the general public on Sun 20 Sep during the hours of 10am and 4pm.
These gardens will have their awards and prizes mailed to them. We regret that the banners will not be distributed this year – here’s hoping that 2021 will allow us to hold a Presentation Night where all banners, awards and prizes are distributed there.
The winning ‘Whole garden of hospitals, clubs and commercially operated retirement estates and nursing homes’ category will receive their award on Saturday 19 September, 10:00am in the winning garden. This award will be presented by State Member Gurmesh Singh and Garden Club Patron Patricia Roser OAM.
Once again, thank you to all the entrants in this competition, Coffs Harbour Garden Club appreciates all your efforts in preparing your garden for the judging.

The Garden Club meet at the Botanic Garden Display Room the THIRD Saturday of the month Jan-Nov (unless otherwise advised).
We ask members to be there at 1:30pm to place their exhibits on the Competition Table, have an opportunity to browse the Trading Table and have a natter. The actual meeting kicks off after the judging of the competition table (usually 15 min). At the moment we are still having a BYO afternoon tea due to COVID.
